Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini is wanted by Southampton who have already bidded £13m
Having begun his career at Atalanta, the wiry forward secured a move to Juventus but never established himself in Turin.
A move to Bologna on loan was followed by a permanent switch to Sampdoria where he impressed enough for Napoli to come calling.
Gabbiadini was a target for Stoke and Everton in the summer while Wolfsburg have also made offers in the past month but wanted an initial loan.
He has made 19 appearances this season and scored five goals, including three in his last three games.
However, Napoli value him at £18m forcing Southampton into talks over an improved offer
