- Chris Eubank Jnr expected to pocket at least £3million from the fight
- Gennady Golovkin is the WBC, WBA, IBO and IBF middleweight champion
- Eubank would be heavy underdog against the unbeaten Kazakh (35-0)
Chris Eubank Jnr is expected to sign a £3million deal this week to fight Kazakhstan’s Gennady Golovkin in September in London.
The O2 Arena is the preferred venue and after 11 days of negotiations promoter Eddie Hearn has told Sportsmail an agreement is 'very close'.
It is understood Eubank Jnr would stand to pocket at least £3million for a hugely ambitious middleweight assignment against the most devastating puncher in the sport.
Given the way the proposed deal is structured, a bumper pay-per-view audience on Sky Box Office could see the British champion's purse doubled.

Considering Golovkin has won all 35 of his fights, 32 by knockout, and acquired the WBC, WBA and IBF world titles, Eubank is actively chasing a fight in which he would be a major underdog.
Talks with Sky on Monday were described as 'positive' by Hearn, who is considering September and October dates for the bout. September at The O2 are the preferred option.
He told Sportsmail: 'It is very close to being made. We had a positive meeting with Sky and the major details are nearly all agreed. We still have stuff to discuss but I expect both sides to sign by the end of this weekend.
