Manchester United open talks with Everton over £24m January move for Morgan Schneiderlin, while Memphis Depay could join him on loan

Everton are in talks with Manchester United over a possible £24million move for Morgan Schneiderlin after Jose Mourinho said he would not stand in the way of the French midfielder moving in January.
The United boss has allowed Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay, who have not made a single Premier League start this season, to leave once the transfer window opens if they can find new clubs.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman is keen to sign Schneiderlin, with whom he worked at Southampton, and take Dutch compatriot Depay on loan. Premier League rules prevent Everton from taking two players on loan from the same club.

Each player cost £25million in the summer of 2015 but Mourinho said: 'I am always open to listen to offers for every player.
'Any player who knocks on my door and is not happy and wants to move, when the offers are correct, I will never stop a player from leaving, even if it is to a rival. When Mata left Chelsea to come to United, no problem at all. I am always open.

'What I can say is that I am happy with the squad. I would like my (current) squad to be my squad until the end of the season.'
Mourinho also told Luke Shaw that he needs to step up when he returns from injury. The left back will miss his fourth game in a row at Palace tonight.
'He needs to improve,' said the Portuguese.
'That is normal, he's a kid. I am not expecting a young player to be perfect. A young player makes mistakes, has things to learn, things to develop.'
