  • Premier League champions Leicester City have taken Harrow Borough striker Ibrahim Meite on trial as they bid to uncover their next non-league gem.
20-year-old Meite, who hails from south-west London, has enjoyed a very impressive start to the season with 10 goals in 14 appearances for the Ryman League club.
The striker, who has earned the nickname ‘The Shark’ because of his predatory instinct in front of goal, has attracted attention from a number of Premier League clubs.

But Leicester have taken Meite, a member of the AG Football Academy in west London, on trial this week and he will participate in a behind-closed-doors match on Friday.
Meite has scored in all three of Harrow’s FA Cup ties so far, against Sawbridgeworth Town, Uxbridge and Winchester City.

His last-minute goal in the latter of those has set up a home tie with either Hastings United or Margate in the fourth qualifying round, just one step away from the first round proper.
Leicester signed their talismanic striker Jamie Vardy from non-league Fleetwood Town back in May 2012 and his 24 goals last season helped the Foxes to a remarkable Premier League title win and earned him an England place.
