Bromleigh McCleneghan: Sex Before Marriage Is Good

A pastor has authored a book which says it’s okay for singles to indulge in sex before marriage, Christian or not.

Having sex outside marriage even though accepted by society, is frowned upon by christians. An author, Bromleigh McCleneghan, has attempted to explain why it may be okay to actually indulge in ‘guilt-free’ sex even as a single christian who doesn’t conform to the world (okay na).

According to her, it’s okay to have sex along as it’s “mutually pleasurable and affirming“. She also said it’s not by force to stay off sex, especially if you became single by circumstance.

The married mother of three who is also an associate pastor at the Union Church of Hinsdale in Chicago, USA, said it’s also great to be faithful to your sexual partner, even if you are both unmarried.

Here’s what she said below:

“If we refrain from having sex that isn’t mutually pleasurable and affirming, that doesn’t respect the sacred worth of ourselves and our partners…Chastity, or just sex, requires that whether we are married or unmarried, our sex lives restrain our egos, restrain our desire for physical pleasure when pursuing it would bring harm to self or other.”

Fulani Herdsmen Kill Luka Ubangari, RCCG Pastor In Kaduna

Gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Sunday night reportedly killed three persons among them, one Pastor Luka Ubangari of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Unguwan Anjo, near Godogodo in the Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The cleric was said to have been ambushed, shot and killed while on his motorcycle after an evangelical visit to Golkofa, also in the area.

The incident occurred a few days after the state governor, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, visited Godogodo and Sanga districts, in the Jema’a and Sanga local governments areas, all in the southern part of the state to appraise the attacks of suspected Fulani herdsmen in the area.

El-Rufai in the affected villages of Gada Biyu, Anjo and Godogodo penultimate Tuesday, condemned the killings, describing them as ‘senseless,’ promising to arrest the perpetrators.

A source told our correspondent that two days after the murder of Ubangari, suspected herdsmen attacked Ningon village, 6km from Gwantu, headquarters of Sanga LGA, killing two persons and seriously injuring another person.

The source, who craved for anonymity, noted that their joy during the visit of the state governor to the area, turned sour as result of the latest attack.

He said, “We were happy that Governor Nasir el-Rufai visited and assured us of improved security and that the killers would be found and punished.

“To our shock, Pastor Luka Ubangari was ambushed, shot and killed as he was riding his motorcycle after an evangelical visit to Golkofa. He was killed by Fulani men who were out to remove us from our ancestral lands.”

Mr. Nuhu Tukura, the President of the Ningon Community Development Association, said Ningon was attacked on Sunday night and two natives, Gambo Sule, 38, and Benjamin Auta, 35, were killed by gunmen.

He added that the police only arrived on Monday morning following a distressed call put on to them on Sunday night.

Tukura said, “At 8:45pm Sunday night, Mr. Gambo Sule, 38, Mr. Benjamin Auta, 35, were killed by unknown herdsmen.

“We are seriously troubled by all these happenings. Now, we don’t even know what we can do to have rest. Our farms, we cannot go, and our houses we cannot live in. What else shall we do?

“We called the police immediately the incident occurred around 8:45pm on Sunday night, but they did not come until around 7:30, this morning, (Monday). “We are pleading with the state government to help us with security and assist us in feeding. Most farmers are afraid to go to the farm and there will be food scarcity problem this year and the next.”

The Kaduna State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Aliyu Usman, who confirmed the incident told our correspondent on phone that only one person was killed.

Usman said but for the timely intervention of the police, the casualty figures would have been higher.

He said the police used armoured personnel carriers to chase the armed bandits out of the villages.

Usman said, “When the people learnt of the invasion of the attackers, the police in the area swiftly moved in with APC to chase away the attackers. However, one person was killed. Our men acted quickly to save the situation.”

Jose Mourinho vs Pep Guardiola is the blockbuster battle of Manchester... but what have we learned so far?

The first Manchester derby of the season on September 10 at Old Trafford has taken on even greater significance since Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola renewed their rivalry in the Premier League
With that fixture fast approaching after the international break, and both United and City on maximum points after a busy summer and two league games, Sportsmail assesses the early progress made under the two new coaches.

Manchester United have beaten Southampton and Bournemouth, and sit top of the league
Manchester City have recorded a couple of wins too and have maximum points so far

Mourinho could hardly have wished for a smoother start at Old Trafford, with routine wins over Bournemouth and Southampton to kick off the new season. United were comfortable 3-1 winners at the Vitality Stadium and looked equally assured in a 2-0 victory at home to Saints on Friday night.
City, on the other hand, haven’t had it so easy. They needed an 87th minute own-goal from former United man Paddy McNair to beat Sunderland at home on the opening day, and another tough game at Stoke on Saturday was in the balance before substitute Nolito scored two late goals.
However, Guardiola has been delighted with the character shown by his players in both games. They are already showing signs of what’s to come under the former Barcelona coach, not least in a resounding 5-0 win over Steaua Bucharest in Romania that has rendered the second leg of their Champions Playoff on Wednesday academic.

West Ham target Martin Braithwaite commits immediate future to Toulouse but doesn't rule out move to England: 'I want to play for some of the biggest teams in the world'

  • Martin Braithwaite says he wants to stay with Toulouse for now
  • Braithwaite was the target of a £2.5m summer bid from West Ham
  • The striker says Toulouse have plenty of potential he wants to unlock
  • But Braithwaite hasn't totally ruled out a switch to a big European club

  • West Ham striker target Martin Braithwaite has handed Slaven Bilic a transfer blow by committing his immediate future to Ligue 1 side Toulouse.
The Hammers offered £2.5million for Braithwaite this summer, the 25-year-old even travelling to England for extra coaching sessions in preparation for a move to the Premier League.
Braithwaite worked with specialist striker coach Allan Russell, a man who has helped West Brom's Saido Berahino and Andre Gray of Burnley to improve their technique, but is now staying in France for the season ahead. He scored 14 goals last season to help Toulouse avoid relegation.

    BRAITHWAITE LEAGUE STATS 2015/16

    Appearances: 36
    Goals: 11
    Shot accuracy: 48 per cent
    Chances created: 24
    Pass accuracy: 79 per cent
    Duels won: 47 per cent
    Yellow/red cards: 1/0
Braithwaite ended the last campaign with a bang and also scored twice as Toulouse downed Bordeaux 4-1 at the weekend. But although he won't be going anywhere for now, the striker retains an ambition to play at the highest level.
'There have been a lot of rumours, and some of them are true,' he told Omnisport.
'There have been some offers but they haven't been good enough for the club to sell me, or anything good enough in my eyes to make me push to go.
I want to stay in Toulouse one more year because we have something really nice going on. I think we're in for a great season.
'This is a big city and it's a nice city in France and we have so much unfulfilled potential that I feel we can accomplish this season.
'I'm sure we have a big season ahead.'
Braithwaite's displays at the end of last season have seen him named Toulouse club captain. His goal against Angers to keep his team in the league won't be forgotten in a hurry but as for the future, the player remains keen not to rule anything out.

Crystal Palace, Sunderland and Hull were also interested in Braithwaite but with West Ham keen on signing a new forward following injuries to Andre Ayew and Andy Carroll, his latest comments will come as a disappointment to those at London Stadium.
'I don't have any specific clubs in mind but I want to play with the best,' Braithwaite said. 'I want to play for some of the biggest teams in the world, that's my main dream. I know I will reach it because I have a lot of confidence and I know I put the necessary work into it every day. I know if I put in the work then I will get there.
'You have to be patient in life and take that small step every day.
'You don't get to the top of the stairs in one day. If you take those small steps, then one day you will end up where you want to be.'

West Ham try to tempt AC Milan's Carlos Bacca to Premier League again by bidding less than original £20m but with more cash up front

  • Slaven Bilic needs to recruit a new striker for West Ham this summer
  • Hammers boss is without injured pair of Andre Ayew and Andy Carroll
  • Carlos Bacca is top of the Croatian's wishlist in final weeks of the window
  • The Colombian has already turned down a move to the Premier League
  • West Ham are set to offer more money up front for the striker
  • Bacca would double his wages by swapping Serie A for England

  • West Ham are set to make a fresh attempt to sign Carlos Bacca from AC Milan, by offering less than the £20million they originally tabled for the Colombian.
The Hammers are in desperate need of another striker to bolster their ranks after seeing Andre Ayew and Andy Carroll sustain injuries during the early days of the new season.
And manager Slaven Bilic hasn't given up hope of recruiting Bacca to the London Stadium, despite the player having previously indicated he is not keen on leaving his current club.

The Hammers' revised offer will give Milan more cash up front but with the total sum ultimately falling below the approach made earlier this month.
A move from Serie A to the English top-flight would double Bacca's wages from the £60,000 per week he earns at the San Siro to £120,000 in London.
The 29-year-old has already been involved in discussions regarding a potential move away from the Rossoneri but recently revealed his reasons for choosing to stay in Italy.
'When the intermediary presented the offer, I consulted with my family and decided to stay, it was the right thing for me to do,' he told Sky Italia, without mentioning West Ham directly.

'I wanted to remain because I promised I'd take Milan back into Europe.'
West Ham beat Bournemouth 1-0 on Sunday to register their first points of the new campaign but Bilic is already counting the cost of the Premier League's early exchanges.
Ayew will be out of action for four months after limping out of the 2-1 defeat by Chelsea with a thigh problem and Carroll could be sidelined for as long as six weeks with a knee injury.

Man Bathes Married Lover With Acid In Oyo (graphic Pics)

SHE LIED TO ME, INFECTED ME WITH MAGUN, THEN I BATHED HER WITH ACID.................Says man who had affair with mother of 5

OLUWATOYIN MALIK

The long arm of the law has caught up with 43-year old Yisau Adeleke, nine months after he went into hiding, as he has been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command for bathing his lover with acid after he discovered that she was a married woman, contrary to her claim of being a widow.

Adeleke, who allegedly committed the offence on November 25, 2015, was arrested on August 7 at about 7:00a.m. at a radio station in Ibadan where he had gone to respond to his lover’s complaint on how he turned her into a monster through acid bath.

Crime Reports learnt that the victim, Mrs Morufa Ajoke Odesanya, reported at Oluyole police station on Novermber 25, 2015 that Adeleke bathed her with acid at about 9:05p.m after she responded to his call to meet him at a certain spot in her neighbourhood.

Sources informed Crime Reports that the victim admitted that she had an affair with the suspect before he carried out the act. The 36-year-old lady, a mother of five, was said to be legally married to her husband at the time she started having an affair with Adeleke, but reportedly deceived him into believing that she was a widow.

In an interview with Adeleke, he narrated the genesis of his relationship with his victim and what led him to the action he took thus: “I was arrested because I poured acid on a lady I regarded as my fiancée until I discovered otherwise.

“I had a wife, Ronke, who had two children for me but I later discovered that she had two children for two men before she married me. She also decided that she had had the number of children that she wanted, asking me to look for another woman if I needed more. She went for family planning.

“I started dating Morufa and she asked me to rent a room, which I did at Idi Arere, Ibadan. She told me she was a widow with two children. She used to bring the two children to Idi Arere. She also took me to where she was living at Elebu area of Ibadan, saying that the house belonged to her aunt.

“She showed me a man who she claimed to be her brother, but whom I later discovered to be her husband. She took me to her mother and I took her to my aunt who was like my mother to introduce her as my wife-to-be. Morufa used to come and stay with me at the rented apartment and I had to tell my wife that she could leave because I had already got a wife.

“We used to have sex regularly to the level that even during her menstrual period, she would beg me to have sex with her, saying she could not keep off me. This continued until the day I came in contact with Magun (a charm usually placed diabolically on wayward women as a punishment for their lovers) in the course of our affair. It was as if my navel was twisted and I also had a tongue twist. I started feeling dizzy. This made me to raise the alarm and Morufa also started crying. An Islamic cleric came to my rescue by making some incantations.

“Though I became a bit relieved, the stomach ache continued and the next thing Morufa said was that she believed that the Magun was the handiwork of her mother-in-law. I asked whether she went to her mother-in-law and for the reason she would want to harm her daughter-in-law’s fiancé since her son was dead.

“To my surprise, Morufa called me same day and asked about my condition. She then added that she had sex with one Baba Bidemi, and it proved that what I experienced was not Magun. Baba Bidemi was the man she called her brother. I was confused and this made me to decide that I was no longer interested in the relationship if she could deceive me for about two years that we were together. She started begging me.

“I probed her further and she confessed that the man was her husband and that she had five children, though she initially told me that three children she did not declare as her own were born by the wife of her ‘brother’ before they divorced.

“I stopped going to her husband’s house but we were still meeting because I wanted to collect the money I contributed as a member of a group we formed for the purpose of contributing money that we could collect in bulk. I got number six and number 20.

“She collected the first one and when I was to collect the second one after the discovery of her lies, she told me that she gave it to her brother (husband) to pay FRSC fine. But to my surprise, when I saw the brother (husband), he was riding a brand new motorcycle. This infuriated me so much because I felt used.

“She continued to plead with me to forgive her, saying that I was the salt of her life. But I was so hurt by her deception and the devil pushed me to an evil act. So I conceived the plan to pour acid on her. On November 25, 2015, she asked me to come and collect my money, and I took the acid jar along with me.

“We stood at a point not too far from her residence and in the course of our discussion I brought out the jar, opened it and poured the content on her. She screamed and ran off, while a bit of the liquid splashed on me. I also ran away to my village at Omi Adio to hide until a week ago when I learnt that she reported me at a radio station. I was at the radio station to state my own side when police came to arrest me.”

Adeleke said he was shocked when he saw Morufa because he did not know that the acid burns were that extensive, expressing regret at his action.

Meanwhile the lady is said to be in excruciating pain and would need about N3 million to carry out corrective surgery because of the way she is. Crime Reports also learnt that her husband had taken his wife’s misdemeanor in good faith and had been taking care of her since the incident occurred.

When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adekunle Ajisebutu confirmed the suspect’s arrest, saying that he was arraigned in a magistrates’ court on Thursday, August 18 and had been remanded in prison.

His case has been adjourned till November 9.

Father Mbaka: "They Plan To Kill Buhari"

Fiery Catholic priest, Ejike Mbaka, has said that plans are being hatched to murder President Muhammadu Buhari over his uncompromising stand on corruption.

In a video message obtained by PREMIUM TIMES, Mr. Mbaka urged the devotees at his popular Adoration Ground in Enugu to desist from speaking evil against the president.

“So I want to tell you that so far, God is happy with Buhari. And him whom God has blessed, may you not try to accurse, because God will curse you,” said the priest.

“Many people are planning, as it is revealed, to kill him. There are many plans on how to eliminate his life so that corruption will continue, so that quantum embezzlement will continue.

“But the Lord says ‘God who put you there will not forsake you. Be firm, be resolute, remain focused, and be unbiased. Refuse to be intimidated and refuse to be distracted. Go ahead and war against evil. President Buhari, go ahead and war against corruption. President Buhari, God and his people are behind you, you are the answer of the prayers of the people, amen.'”

PREMIUM TIMES could not ascertain the exact date of the message, but it addressed recent occurrences, including the hardship being experienced by Nigerians.

The priest attributed the hardship to past leaders who corruptly enriched themselves and their cronies, adding that all of them – from local government chairmen to presidents – ought to be in exile by now.
“It doesn’t matter the man of God they worship with, I tell you before God and man, all of them are wicked. They hate this country,” he said.
“They succeeded in removing the liver, kidneys, and cardiovascular systems of this country, and paralyzed the neurological organs and handed over to Buhari, the new president, shambles, skeleton almost, a nation that is comatic.
“Nigeria right now, economically, security wise, is in the intensive care unit. If the oxygen is removed, Nigeria will go.
“The entire money voted for hospitals were looted out.
“Corruption was in quantum. To the level that the Nigerian bishops had to compose a prayer – Prayer against Bribery and Corruption, and assured all the Catholics to be praying that prayer every day after the Communion.
“All the money voted for road constructions were swindled, eaten. Many of them became millionaires and billionaires in Naira, in Dollars, in Pounds, in Euro. Billionaires, when they have no workshop, no business centre. Somebody who has nothing he’s doing, yet he’s a billionaire, because he’s a politician.”
In the run up to the 2015 presidential election, Mr. Mbaka threw his weight behind Mr. Buhari, urging his teeming followers to cast their votes for him as the solution to the pervading corruption and insecurity in the country.
In December last year, after Mr. Buhari emerged president, he hosted the priest at the presidential villa where he praised his “exemplary courage.”
Controversy erupted one month later when the Catholic Church transferred Mr. Mbaka out of his parish and away from his ministry, a decision the church staunchly defended as “normal church procedure.”
But the priest continued to deliver his pro-Buhari messages culminating in the president felicitating with him last month as he marked 21 years of priesthood.
In his recent message, Mr. Mbaka said Mr. Buhari was God’s answer to Nigeria’s corruption problems.
“People of God prayed from here and there, God answered our prayers and gave us Muhammadu Buhari,” he said.
“And I want to tell you today, God has told us that Buhari is a prayer answered. President Buhari is an answered prayer. Whether you hate him or whether you like him, Buhari is a prayer answered.
“The bishops of Nigeria, the Catholics prayed against bribery and corruption and this president came with a magna charter that has to do with war against corruption.
“All the prayers we have been doing against corruption, God answered that prayer through a Muslim, who decided not to discriminate.

“There’s nothing like religious, racial discrimination in Buhari’s administration. He’s a man for all, he means good for this country, and we owe him support; unalloyed support, consistent support, perennial support, unstoppable support, spiritual and otherwise.”
Mr. Mbaka also said that contrary to the criticisms of marginalization usually levelled against President Buhari’s administration, no section of the country is being marginalised.
“Our past…not our past leaders, our past looters, you may not understand, looters, embezzlers pissed on the political positions, have eaten the cake of this country and now everybody is suffering it,” he said.
“The youths are suffering it. And they want to tell you that we are marginalized. The Yorubas are not marginalized, the Hausas are not marginalized, Efik people are not marginalized, and the Igbo people are not marginalized.
“In the present political scenario, Igbo people have the ministerial position for Minister for External Affairs, full portfolio, in the person of Onyeama. Igbo people have the portfolio for Science and Technology, in the person of Ogbonnaya Onu.
“You go to Abia, we have the Industry and Commerce. Come over to Anambra, we have the Labour and Employment. And the problem of this country today is employment. If our youths are well employed, kidnapping will go. Kidnapping was a child of the past administration. They delivered that ugly baby, and that baby resembled them.”
The priest urged the congregation to reject any claims that the Igbos were being marginalised by the current government, insisting that the present hardship is the product of “intrinsically corrupt past political” activities.
“Many of you were intimidated and you will say what they want you to say,” he said.
“But that is not the case. It is my job to put your mind right. When anybody want you to say that Igbos are marginalized, don’t believe it.
“The Igbos in the north are doing well, and the northern people are not chasing them away. The Igbos in the Yoruba land, go to Idumota, go to Alaba, Ladipo and so on, they are treated with utter hospitality, with innovative kindness.
