Open Letter To Nigerians
Dear Sir /Ma,
How are you? I already know the answer to that, I know that living in Nigeria and surviving takes the Grace of God. I just want us to follow these guidelines for us and our families to live in peace and happiness
1) Pray Pray and Pray, Prayer is the Key
2) Spend wisely, we all know its very difficult to save in these times of petrol @145 naira, 3 tomatoes for 200 naira. Buy only what u really need
3) Avoid Conflicts in any form, many people are angry, and frustrated,  and are ready to kill at any little provocation, patience is key, ignore as much as possible, its better safe than sorry
4)Our men please control your anger, we know how hard it is to meet up on bills and everything, please don't take it down on your wife and family, let your home be a place of refuge not a war zone. Don't Worry we will all smile again
5) Women! Women! Women! How many times did I call you? Control your mouth! This is not the time to start complaining, and nagging your husband, you too do something for your family, give him your body and soul, no complain of being tired oh!  Be a good Mother to your children, and let your family time be fun.
6)Our health is very important, especially in this very hot weather, lets eat healthy too
7)In conclusion, do things that are fun for you, to take your mind of stress.
May God Help us to make our lives better. PEACE"

Revert to old pump price or we will begin a total strike on Wednesday May 18th'- NLC threatens FG

The Nigeria Labor Congress, NLC, and its affiliates which includes the Trade Union Congress, TUC, have given the Federal government a 96-hours ultimatum to revert to the old pump price of N86.50 or face a total strike that will begin on Wednesday May 18th.

At a meeting held in Abuja today, NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, said if the government failed to revert to the old price and stop the deregulation of the oil sector by midnight of Tuesday May 17th, the workers would have no option than to embark on a total strike by Wednesday May 18th.

“Since there has not been any increase in salaries, wages or pensions of workers in the past five years, and in the face of devaluations, spiraling inflation and other vagaries of the economy, the increase in fuel price is unrealistic, unaffordable, unacceptable, and is thus rejected. It is evident that the neo-liberal forces in the government have taken over, and we should expect more inhumane policies which will further degrade the living standard of the average Nigerian. The punitive electricity tariff and PMS product prices may just be teasers. The price hike from N86:50 to N145, representing 67.63% increase, is the height of insensitivity and impunity as there was no previous consultation with stake holders, especially the organized labour, or any justification for this reckless decision other than the fact that government believes it is accountable to no one"he said

Dapper windscreen cleaner spotted in Abeokuta, Ogun State (pics)

Photographer, Daniel Sync, met a dapper windscreen cleaner in Abeokuta and shared his experience.
He wrote; (see more photos after the cut...)

"So, I bumped into this well suited windscreen cleaner yesterday in Ogun State. We need more innovative citizens like Abdulahi in Nigeria. Well spoken Abdulahi Olatoyan who is in his early thirties is a University of Ilorin dropout, who turned to the street after the demise of his father to make a living and save enough money to start a business.
He hopes to return to school to finish his studies one day. Photographing and speaking with Abdulahi today inspired me and i do hope that you are inspired by his story too. If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.”

Fayose is undermining our authority- PDP says, advises him to learn from other PDP governors

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has accused the Ekiti state governor, Ayo Fayose, of undermining the party's authority by delving into the affairs of the party's National Working Community.

The National secretary of the party, Wale Oladipo, stated this today while addressing reports that Fayose had asked that the party's South West Congress slated for today to continue despite a court injunction secured by the National Working Committee preventing the congress from holding.

Oladipo lamented that Fayose's attitude was unbecoming and that he needs to learn good behavior from other PDP governors like his Ondo state counterpart, Olusegun Mimiko

“Governor Fayose is not a member of the national working committee of the PDP, but he’s causing confusion with his utterances. We are not dabbling into his government and he has no right to tell us how to run the party here. We have an order of the court stopping the congress. The governor cannot overrule the court. He should behave like other governors who do not dabble into the running of the party at the national level. He should learn from Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State who respect the party and the president of the country. The order of the court was even published in three national dailies and therefore, he can’t deny he was not aware. Our national legal adviser who is the chief legal adviser of the party, Mr. Victor Kwon, has advised that we comply with the order and we are complying with it. We are not above the law of the land. Those who want to claim they want to organise any conference are doing that on their own, not on behalf of the party. Whatever comes out of it would be null and void because we are not monitoring it.”he said
